WILLOW 2023 - 2024

Willow Class

Hello and welcome to our class page for Willow. In Willow Class, the teacher is Claire Pickering and the teaching assistants are Zaynah, Saskia and Hayden.

Special Breakfast happens each Friday where we have lots of tasty food, such as, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, beans and lots of fresh fruit which the children love. We give our certificates to our Rights Respecting Superstars, Amazing Readers and Amazing Mathematicians and we also find out which Duty Bearers have earned an extra special mention too. 

Please try and read with your child by sharing one of the interactive texts on MyOn or by using their reading book if you have requested one to be sent home. If you are unsure of your child's login details for MyOn then please contact a member of the class team who will happily assist.

Your child has access to a range of online learning apps to aid them in their skills and knowledge. Encourage them to log in regularly and see if they can beat their previous scores. Again, if you are unsure of any login details then please do contact us and we will share these with you.

Our Learning Summer 1 2024

ENGLISH

This term we will be looking at ‘The Ever Changing Earth’ by Grahame Baker-Smith and ‘The Man Who Walked Between The Towers’ by Mordicai Gerstein. We will be linking the book Ever Changing Earth to our science topic.

MATHS

As mathematicians, we will focus on Place Value, addition and subtraction, as well as Multiplication and division.

Make sure you go on TT Rockstars and My Maths at home to do extra practice to help you. (see links at the bottom of the page).

SCIENCE

As scientists, we are focussing on Earth and Space.

Our big question is:

‘How many stars can we see?’

HISTORY

As Historians, we will be learning about Ancient Greece.

ART

As artists, we will be focussing on Collage

D&T

As designers, will be looking at Electrical Systems. In this unit we will be looking at Doodlers.

COMPUTING

As technology users, we will look at Data and Multimedia

PSHE

As global citizens, the theme for this term is Healthy lifestyles.

Is it very important to look after our health.

RE

As global citizens, this half term, our key question is: What is it like to be a Muslim in Britain today?

PE

This half term we will be taking part in Games.
