WILLOW 2024 - 2025

Hello and welcome to our class page for:

Welcome to Willow class! Jonny Carroll is the class teacher in Willow, along with Olivia and Saskia who are the teaching assistants.

Special Breakfast happens each Friday where we have lots of tasty food, such as, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, beans and lots of fresh fruit. We give our certificates to our Rights Respecting Superstars and find out which Duty Bearers have earned an extra special mention too. 

Please try and read with your child regularly either online using MyOn or by using their reading book if you have requested one to be sent home

Our Learning Autumn 1 2024

ENGLISH  

This term we will be looking at “People Need People” by Benjamin Zephaniah. We will then move on to ‘Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’ by Rick Riordan.

MATHS

As mathematicians, we will focus on Addition Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.

Make sure you go on TT Rockstars and My Maths at home to do extra practice to help you. (see links at the bottom of the page).

SCIENCE

As scientists, we are focussing on Classifying Living Things

HISTORY

As historians, we will be learning about The Maya Civilisation.

ART

As artists, we will be focussing on Drawing.

D&T

As designers, we will be looking at Pneumatic Inventions.

COMPUTING & MUSIC

As technology users and musicians, Willow Class will be visiting Contact Theatre. We will be using music software on Apple Macs to create our own beats and songs!

PSHE

As global citizens, the theme for this term is Living in the Wider World.

RE

As global citizens, we will continue this half term with our key question: What do religions say to us when life gets hard? 

PE

This half term we will be going swimming.
