Welcome to Class Damson, the teacher is Lissette Riera  and the teaching assistants are Charlie ,Holly and Danielle. 

Special Breakfast happens each week on a Friday where we give our certificates to our Rights Respecting Superstars.

The children in our class who are Y4 will be doing the Multiplication Y4 test in the 2nd and 3rd week of the half term.

At Damson Class, this term will  be full of exciting learning experiences! 

Mathematics:In summer term, we will be focusing on time, fractions, place value and weight and capacity.

Children  have been learning and mastering their multiplication and division skills during the first half-term. 

English: In English class, we will be focusing on recount  writing. Our chosen book for the summer term, "BFG". From this text will be working:

-Pronouns

-Apostrophes for contraction and possession

-Year 2/ Year 2 common exception words and Year 3.

-A range of puctuation rules. 

-Use of subordination and coordination sentences 

-Key features of writing a letter: 
  • Layout - including address and date. Your address should be written in the top-right corner of the page...
  • Who are you writing to? If you do know the person; use their name...
  • Beginning the letter...
  • Tone (the way the letter sounds) ...
  • Paragraphs.
  • Closing statement.
  • Ending a  letter.

Science: Our focus in science has been on the captivating topic of "sound". Our science Objectives are:

I) Identify how sounds are made, associating some of them with something vibrating.

II) Recognise that vibrations from sounds travel through a medium to the ear.

III) Find patterns between the pitch of a sound and features of the object that produced it.

PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education): Our PSHE curriculum is centered on "transition". 

We are also empowering our students to become resilient individuals, boost their self-confidence, and refine their listening and communication skills by using skill builders Universal framework.

Our lessons will be focusing on sculpture. Students will be able to:

As the children come to the end of another school year, we will recognise that transition is important and will be focusing on ensuring children are ready for the summer holidays and next the next academic year.
