Hello and welcome to our class page for: 

Class Sycamore

In Class Sycamore, the teacher is Mr Payne and the teaching assistants are Pip and Neeta.

On this page, you will find information about our current Curriculum Vehicle and the learning we are doing in class this half term. 

This half term we have PE, focusing on games (football) every Tuesday & Wednesday (so make sure you have some trainers).

Special Breakfast happens each week on a Friday where we give our certificates to our Rights Respecting Superstars and find out which Duty bearers have earned an extra special mention too.

Pupils have been given their login details to access our school learning apps at home. Please contact your class team if you need the log in details to be resent.

Please try and read with your child regularly either online using Active Learn or using a reading book, if you request this we can make sure one gets sent home.  

Our curriculum

This half term our Vehicle will be ‘Food’ and we will be learning:

English: Texts to Inform, looking at non-chronological reports.

Maths: We are looking at multiplication, division and fractions.

Geography: Human and Physical features including biomes all linked to farming.

History: How Britain has had an influence on the World specifically, the British Empire and the food it transported.

Science: Animals including Humans. We will be learning about; bones, nutrients, blood, the heart and circulatory system.

ICT: Internet safety.

Design Technology: Food technology linked to dairy, savoury picnics and salads.

PSHE: Aspirations, dreams and goals. Linked to careers in food.

In addition to this, we will have the opportunity to work with our School Artist and continue to understand our Rights through everything we do.

Spring 1 highlights

We wrote about some of the fantatstic science experiments related to 'Forces' we carried out.

Advanced our addition and subtraction skills with some really, really, really large numbers.

Took part in live lessons about bird watching and sorted through some owl pellets.

Created amazing gymnastics routines including a range of movements including rolls, balances and jumps.

Had fantastic discussions about growing up and puberty.
