LIME (7AL) 2022 - 2023
Anna Lee is the Class Teacher along with Pip Lamb and Callum Tipping who are the Teaching Assistants in Lime Class.
Every Friday we celebrate the achievements of the children during a Special Breakfast celebration and certificates are given out to our Rights Respecting superstars who have shone that week.
In Summer 1 term we will be studying the Stone Age in History lessons and our English texts will tie in with this topic.
We will be reading Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura and producing some writing which informs the reader about life in Stone Age times. We will also be looking at Fossil by Bill Thompson and writing our own story inspired by the text. Our final text is How To Wash A Woolley Mammoth by Michelle Robinson and we will produce our own instructions based on the story.
In Maths we are starting the half term learning about time, we will move on to addition and subtraction and finish with multiplications and division calculations.
The Science topic this half term is Rocks and Soils and we will be learning about the different types of rocks and how we can identify them.
The History period we are covering takes us from the Stone Age up until the Iron Age and we will explore the life of a Hunter Gatherer during this time.
Our Art focus is creating and combining shapes to make recognisable 3D forms using clay and mouldable materials. We will also be working with Jo our Resident Artist to design and sculpt huts that resemble those made in the Stone Age.
In DT we are using textiles and making cushions with cross stitch sewing.
RSE this term focuses on different kinds of relationships and we will thinking about questions like ‘What does a healthy relationship look like?’ and ‘Why is being equal important in relationships?’
Our Modern Foreign Language continues with Lysette our Spanish teacher who is teaching us more vocabulary this term including how to order food in a cafe!
Finally we will be revisiting e-safety in ICT and discussing the importance of protecting ourselves whilst using the internet and what rules we must remember to ensure our privacy and safety.
